The hardest part of creating content is starting. This guide removes every excuse. You'll go from blank idea to downloadable MP4 in under five minutes.

No camera. No editing software. No face required.

What You're Building

A two-character AI dialogue video is a 9:16 vertical short featuring two animated characters having a scripted conversation. One teaches. One reacts. Viewers learn something in 30–90 seconds.

This format gets watched to the end because dialogue creates micro-tension — the viewer wants to hear the response. That retention keeps you in the algorithm.

What You Need Before You Start

  • An idea (one sentence is enough)
  • A Viral Character account (free signup → — 100 credits included, no card required)
  • 5 minutes

That's it.

Step 1: Intake — Drop Your Idea (60 seconds)

Go to Create Video.

  1. Select Draft with AI
  2. Paste your hook into the Your Idea field

A strong idea is one sentence that describes what the video will teach or reveal. Examples:

  • "3 mistakes people make when building their credit score"
  • "Why most people will never invest in index funds (and why that's a mistake)"
  • "The real reason you're not getting views on Instagram Reels"
  • "What your gym isn't telling you about protein timing"
  1. Choose Video Style: Educational, Comedy Story, or Brain Rot
  2. Set Language and Target Length (60 seconds is ideal for first videos)
  3. Click Continue to Cast →

Tip: Don't overthink the idea. The AI will build the script. Your job is to give it a direction.

Step 2: Cast — Pick Your Two Characters (30 seconds)

On the Cast screen, you'll see the platform character library.

  1. Pick Character 1 — this is usually the expert or authority figure
  2. Pick Character 2 — usually the curious beginner or skeptic
  3. Assign a personality to each (e.g. Confident Expert + Skeptical Student)
  4. Click Continue →

The AI uses these personality assignments to write dialogue that sounds natural for each character. The contrast between personalities is what makes the back-and-forth engaging.

Want your own characters? Paid plans let you create custom characters with AI-generated images, voice cloning, and background removal. You build them once and reuse them across every video.

Step 3: Script — Review the AI Draft (90 seconds)

The AI generates a full dialogue script automatically. Each block shows the speaker and their line.

What to do:

  1. Read through the full script
  2. Cut any lines that are too long or vague
  3. Sharpen the opening hook — it should stop the scroll in the first 2 seconds
  4. Make sure the last line has a CTA: "Follow for more", "Part 2 drops tomorrow", "Save this for later"
  5. Click Approve & Go to Studio →

Want full control? Choose Write manually on the Intake screen to write your own dialogue blocks or paste a JSON script.

Hook formula that works: Start with a statement that creates disbelief or urgency. "Most people think X — they're wrong." or "Nobody talks about Y, but it's costing you Z."

Step 4: Studio — Set the Visuals (90 seconds)

The Visual Sandbox shows a live preview as you make changes.

Characters tab

  • Set screen position (left/right/top/bottom entry)
  • Adjust size and toggle Floating bob for energy
  • Tune speech speed if lines feel rushed

Background tab

  • Choose platform gameplay footage (Minecraft, Subway Surfers, etc.) or upload your own MP4

Captions tab

  • Enable captions — the majority of Shorts and Reels viewers watch muted
  • Pick a style preset and position (bottom-third is most readable)

Music tab

  • Add a background track that matches the energy of your niche

Don't overthink the studio. A clean background, captions on, and the right speech speed covers 90% of what makes a video perform.

Step 5: Render — Generate and Download (2–3 minutes)

  1. Click GENERATE FINAL VIDEO
  2. Wait 2–3 minutes while the platform renders audio, animation, captions, and export
  3. Open Library when the video is ready
  4. Download your MP4

That's your video. Post it.

What to Do With the Video

  • Upload directly to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or Facebook Reels
  • Write a caption that restates the hook
  • Add 3–5 hashtags relevant to your niche (not generic like #viral)
  • Post and move on — don't watch the analytics obsessively for the first 48 hours

Batch Your Production

Once you've done this once, the process takes closer to 3 minutes per video. Create 5–10 in one sitting and schedule them across the week. Consistency is the variable that separates accounts that grow from accounts that stall.
